I was riding in my car this morning and a song came on that referenced the “High Five” or the “celebratory gesture made by two people, each raising one hand to slap the raised hand of the other.” It got me thinking, how did the high five originate? Did one day two people just look at each other and decide that slaping their hands together above their heads was a good way to celebrate? It really is funny if you think about it. Anyway, I Yahoo’d it (that’s right, I prefer Yahoo over Google) and of course was directed to Wiki-Pedia. Where else?? Pretty interesting stuff; there are three suggested origins, but my favorite is that NASA claims their test pilots would slap hands back in the 50’s. I would of thought the high five would have been around longer.

I watched Batman Begins last night and am now even more excited for “The Dark Knight.” It’ll be interesting to compare Heath Ledger as Joker to Jack Nicholson. Only a few more months!
Note, I will be snowmobiling this weekend at my uncle’s cabin in Mora and thus will not be posting tomorrow. Then it’s the Wild game on Sunday!! Hell yeah!
Quote of the Day: (From The Office)
Michael: AIDS is not funny. Believe me, I have tried. There are certain topics that are off-limits to comedians. JFK. AIDS. The Holocaust. The Lincoln assassintation just recently became funny. “I need to see this play like I need a hole in the head.” And I hope to someday live in a world where a person could tell a hilarious AIDS joke. It’s one of my dreams.

NASA, that is funny. The Government takes credit for everything.
