For the past week or so I’ve been watching old eps of Entourage before going to bed. One of the great aspects of Entourage is all the great music they play, especially from the up and coming artists. The featured artists this week is Kid Cudi.
His most popular song to date is Day and Night. There are a bunch of remixes, I prefer the original.
What a great fucking day. I woke up today like any other day, but instead of driving to Chanhassen I drove to campus. Why? Former RickRickert.com employee theFlash scored tickets to Breakfast with the Gophers. So from 8-10am we sat at Williams Arena with 50 other people (including Doug Woog), watched the Gophers practice, and ate donuts! It was a rather light practice. We learned later from Al Nolen that Coach Smith was very easy on them today.
Back to practice, THE GOPHERS TURN THE BALL OVER CONSTANTLY IN PRACTICE. Ahhh, I wanted to yell at them. They also hit about 70% of their 3-pointers during drills, very impressive.
Practice ended, Tubby talked to the people in attendance and thanked them all for supporting the program. The players then lined up and introduced themselves. Next came the photographs, autographs and shoot around.
I went 0-3 on 3’s. I didn’t get a scholarship offer.
theFlash talked some trash to Nolen which led to a little 1 on 1 challenge. Flash played bad defense, Nolen missed the shot, game over. So at least theFlash didn’t lose. But the prized item from this day was the 2008-2009 Golden Gopher signed Emerson Process Management Binder! Yeah, people are pretty jealous. Hopefully the team finishes the season strong so this will turn into a collectors item.
Nick Horvath, the 1999 Mr. Basketball Minnesota from Shoreview, had 10 points and three rebounds the other day for his South team in a 101-96 victory over the New Zealand Breakers, for whom Rick Rickert, the 2001 Mr. Basketball Minnesota from Duluth East, had four points and one rebound.
