I had plans to pump out an amazing preview for today’s Gophers v Northwestern game, then shit got messed up at work and I need to fix shit. So the preview is not going to happen. I was going to look at the other teams that are already in the tournament and see how it affects the Gophers fate. For example, Cleveland State upsetting Butler the other night means that that conference (is it the Horizon still or Conference America or something) is getting 2 teams in the tournament instead of 1. The Gophers need to hope that trend doesn’t continue, otherwise they’ll be hosting a few rounds of the NIT.
Anyway, to the game itself, the Gophers are favored by 2.5 points, which I think is ridiculous being that we lost the NW by 9 in Evanston and beat them by 27 in Minneapolis. On a neutral court, which it should be since NW doesn’t travel well, the Gophs SHOULD win by 10+. The problem is that it’s a neutral court and the Gophers can’t shoot worth shit on any court but Williams, that’s a fact. And the game is at 11am, I’ve seen the Gopher’s practice in the morning, they are not a morning team. The Gophs are 2-4 in games that start before 1pm. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how good the team is, if the players aren’t awake they can’t win. Tubby better have woke these fools up at 6am.
Last comment, Iverson better be playing today and Williams better stay on the bench. That’s it.
I have $25 on the Gopher’s to win by 3 points, and I’m going to be super pissed if they throw this game away. YOU HEAR ME WESTBROOK!
