Here’s Michelle’s latest quote:

“I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under another Democrat president Jimmy Carter. And I’m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it’s an interesting coincidence.”

Turns out that the dreaded Swine Flu broke out during the 70’s, to be more exact 1976, during Gerald Ford’s rule, a republican.  Oh well, she can’t be right all the time, but she can always be crazy.  It is really embarassing to live in the state that elected her.  Maybe we need to look into sell off the eastern suburbs to Wisconsin.

I had a rather entertaining conversation with a friend from high school today regarding my plans for Monday night.

me: so tomorrow night i’m going to the twins game with a friend of the girl that [name  removed] is seeing
i met her on our party bus last weekend. this girl asked me a question and I had no idea how to respond to it
“I’m I overwhelming you?”

Friend: like was she physically attacking you when she was asking you this? or did she actually believe she was mentally dominating you?

me: there was nothing physical happening
so i had no idea what she was referring to
i have a feeling I’m going to be regretting this by the 4th inning tomorrow

Friend: there are decent odds of that yes

me: she is meeting me at the dome after practice….skating practice….figure skating practice…

Friend: oh jesus

me: why is a 27 year old practicing figure skating?

Friend: i’m not sure why that scares me but it does
that’s a great question
maybe she’s in the special olympics
which would be overwhelming

me: oh crap
like one her legs is fake?
that would require a lot of practice

Friend: that would
i want you to go and purchase her some food item…it can be a big hotdog or a large beer. anything that is sizeable
and as she’s eating it ask her if she finds it overwhelming

me: oh god
that made me laugh pretty loud

Wanted: Woman to put head in toilet to prove homicide case theory

Sheboygan Press staff • April 13, 2009

If you are a female about 5 foot 8, 140 pounds and willing to stick your head in a toilet, a northern Wisconsin prosecutor wants your help in a homicide case.

Vilas County Dist. Atty. Al Moustakis plans to recruit volunteers for a second round of controversial tests designed to prove that a woman was drowned by her husband in a toilet — and didn’t commit suicide as he claims.

The experiments involve positioning women the size of the late Genell Plude of Land O’ Lakes around a toilet to determine whether the version of events told by her husband, Douglas Plude, is plausible. Defense lawyers say it’s laughable junk science.

Plude, 42, was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide in 2002. But the state Supreme Court flushed the conviction last year after learning an expert witness who conducted the first round of toilet tests exaggerated his credentials. Plude is expected to be tried for the homicide a second time in October.

Prosecutors contend Plude murdered his 28-year-old wife because she was about to leave him. They say he poisoned her with a migraine headache drug and pushed her face into the toilet to drown her while she vomited.

Plude says that she was depressed, committed suicide by taking the pills on her own and then drowned after her lungs filled with toilet water and/or her own body fluid.

Prosecutors called on expert witness Saami Shaibani to shoot down Plude’s story at the first trial.

Shaibani said that, based on his tests involving volunteers he positioned around a toilet, Plude had to be lying about the positions he claimed he found her in. Genell Plude also could not have inhaled toilet water on her own and someone must have forced her head under the water, he testified.

But defense lawyers from across the country have derided the tests and call them an example of unfair expert testimony.

The state Supreme Court ordered Plude a new trial last June after discovering Shaibani lied about being a clinical associate professor at Temple University who taught physicians and surgeons there about injuries.

Moustakis has hired Christopher Damm of the Milwaukee School of Engineering to do a second round of tests. Judge Neal Nielsen III last month granted his request to allow the testing of the toilet and a floor display of the bathroom in the court’s custody.

Damm, an associate professor of mechanical engineering, said he is a consultant in accident reconstruction and has testified in civil cases but this would be his first criminal case.

‘Tire vampire’ stalks Oshkosh

By Doug Zellmer • Gannett Wisconsin Media • April 1, 2009

OSHKOSH — The ‘tire vampire’ has struck in Oshkosh.

Oshkosh police are investigating an incident in which two tires were punctured on a woman’s car, with a note left on the windshield that read: “You drive like … Enjoy the flats, moron. Slice and dice from the tire vampire.”

Police Sgt. Steve Sagmeister said police received a call from the woman at 2:22 p.m. Monday after she noticed the front and rear tires on the passenger side of her car were punctured. The woman told police she noticed the flat tires while the vehicle was parked in the 400 block of Congress Avenue.

“The woman had been on a couple of errands on the north side of Oshkosh and then she noticed the tires had been punctured,” Sagmeister said.

He said police do not know what precipitated the incident, but authorities believe it to be a random act. Sagmeister said police have not received any similar complaints.

Anyone with information about the incident can call the Oshkosh Police Department at (920) 236-5700 or the Winnebago County Wide Crime Stoppers at (800) 621-2274.

Well I beat theFlash to the AL Preview again this year.  Last year, the Twins performed much better than I and everybody else had expected.  Instincts tell me that this year, as many people are picking them to win the central, the smart pick would be for them to disappoint.  But, I’m going to stay positive in 2009.  I need to remember, these are the Brewers that I grew up with, the Twins are a winning franchise.  Last year we learned that we have a very very solid starting rotation.  I like Breslow in the middle.  We are still going to miss Crazy Arm Pat Neshek, but there still Twitch Joe Nathan to take over the 9th.  At the plate, we are going to struggle if Mauer isn’t in the line-up.  There’s no one that can replace his consistent bat and 0.413 OBP.  We need to hope that everyone stays health, Span and Casilla play ‘09 like ‘08, Punto regains his ‘07 form, and Delmon doesn’t get the nickname DP for all the double-plays that he’ll hit into.

Surprise Twin for ‘09: Boof Bonser, I’m hoping that instead of being in-shape, he has a few more Denny’s Gand Slam breakfasts and adds on the pounds during his 6-7 month injury timeout.  He was a much more dominating pitcher when he had the added weight, like Kenny Powers.  Come to think of it, Boof Bonser could be the real life Kenny Powers.  If you have no idea who Kenny Powers is, you need to watch Eastbound & Down, it’s hilarious.  Come on Boof, we need you for the playoffs!

AL Cy Young: Matt Garza

And some bonus NL Preview:  Brewers will suck again and I won’t have to listen to all my homer bandwagon friends talk about the stupid team to the east.
