About the site: RickRickert.com is a lovely site that is in no way affiliated with the one time basketball player named Rick Rickert. For those of you who’ve never heard of Rick Rickert, he was a basketball player from Duluth, MN who left college too early in order to pursue his dream to play in the NBA. He left the NBA with 0 points scored in 0 minutes played in 0 games. But he did score 1 hot wife (see below)

This site is hilarious. I know of Rickert from High School. He played at Duluth East and I went to Superior (WI) when we played him in basketball we heckled the crap out of him. Like chanting Arizona State, and some how someone got his prom picture from the year before and blew it up and made a crap load of copies. It was hilarious. Thats funny how i stumbled on this. Great job.

Hey, I’m a NZ BBall fan so follow the breakrs. Found this site when I was seeing what I could find out about RR. I’m not having a go at you, I’m just wondering why you think RR is so bad, Ive seen alot worse US players come to NZ to play for teams here.
Hey bud, I’m really not saing that Rick is a bad basketball player. He has tons of talent; the guy just is dumber than a pencil. He made the a big deal about going to play college ball at Arizona, but probably realized that he wouldn’t even start on that team. So wanting playing team, he switched to the U of Minnesota. He had a great individual freshman year on a bad team and followed it up with an ok 2nd season. Then he decides to leave school for the NBA, which would have been less of stupid decision if he would have played a single minute in the NBA. He gets picked by the hometown Minnesota Timberwolves with the last pick in the draft, a mercy pick. If any other team would have had that pick he would have gone undrafted and been a laughing stock of the draft and the state of Minnesota. So he plays overseas and still says the leaving college 2 years early was the right decision to make. Please, man up and say you made a terrible decision. Around the time that he left we had another big guy coming into the U of Minnesota, they would have been great together. But his immature Me-First attitude hurt Minnesota and himself.

Corrections to your assumptions:
-He should have gone to U of A where a coach new what to do with him
-He would have gotten plenty of playing time at U of A, he was thier top recuit and they know how to devolope talent at that program
-2 yrs in the MN program and he would have been picked in the same spot (like you said, he did not improve…did any good player under Monson? That program was weak.)
-Humphries never would have swapped going to MN rather than Duke if Rickert was still there. He made this choice after rickert’s decision because he wanted to be the go to player

Don’t you have a life that you have to spend your time attacking the decisions he’s made in his life? And what’s it got to do with you anyway? I’m watching a “greatest games” replay of a Gophers/UGA game from 2002 and thought I’d refresh my memory about Rickert. I did a search and found this site. I remember he did have a great freshman year, but a very mediocre 2nd. HUGE mistake to leave college early! I think everyone knew it at the time except Rick. Maybe he was afraid his play would continue to deteriorate? He may not be the worst product from the U, but definately the worst decision in recent Gopher history with the potential that he had. Fortunately for Rick, it sounds like he’s gonna lose this distinction to Royce White!
What a terrible waste of time this website is. It’s pathetic that you purchased this domain name in hopes to sell the site, while in the meantime you ridicule a good basketball player.
